Forestry First Aid Courses

Not all work places are the same and while the First Aid at Work suite of courses are comprehensive and cover a suitable range of subjects for most working environments, sometimes a specialist course is needed to prepare a First Aider for a specific set of risks.

First Aid at Work + Forestry (FAW+F)

Course Content

This 3 day course covers the standard range of FAW skills plus:

Crush Injuries
Hypothermia/Exposure
Suspension Injuries
Lyme’s Disease
Lightning Injuries
Catastrophic Bleeding including Chain Saw Injuries and Gun Shot Wounds
Casualty Evacuation Planning

Duration

3 Days (21 Hours)

Assessment

A mix of theory and practical assessment throughout the course.

Certification

On successful completion, candidates will be awarded a certificate that is valid for 3 years. It is recommended that first aiders complete an Annual refresher course each year to refresh and update their skills.

Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry (EFAW+F)

Course Content

This 1 day course covers the standard range of EFAW skills plus:

Crush Injuries
Hypothermia/Exposure
Suspension Injuries
Lyme’s Disease
Lightning Injuries
Catastrophic Bleeding including Chain Saw Injuries and Gun Shot Wounds
Casualty Evacuation Planning

Duration

1 Day (8 Hours)

Assessment

A mix of theory and practical assessment throughout the course.

Certification
