Our Equestrian First Aid courses are designed for riders, riding instructors, clubs, grooms, fence judges and parents of young riders. We can also run short courses for younger riders which are a great activity for a club camp. The training can take place in your venue or yard and will be delivered by experienced riders.
We offer the following courses with additional content specific to the equine environment:
1 Day Emergency First Aid at Work
3 Day First Aid at work
2 Day FAW Re-qualification
3 Hour Emergency First Aid course (Adult or Junior groups)
The specialised content on the course will help prepare students for situations that a normal workplace course may not cover. The additional topics include:
Managing head and spinal injuries
Treatment of riders wearing safety kit
Crush injuries
Casualties suffering from extremes of heat and cold
Which course is right for me?
If you belong to an organisation, they may have set requirements that you need to meet. For instance if are an instructor, you may be required to hold a full First Aid at Work or equivalent. Sometimes there are a minimum number of training hours required to meet regulations. Please speak to your organisation for guidance.
Those working in less hazardous environments may find that a 1 day Emergency First Aid course will be sufficient. Remember that all employers have a legal duty to make arrangements to insure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.
We can also deliver courses for young riders, great for Pony Club camps etc.
For the First Aid at Work suite there is a minimum age of 14 years. However, a student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.

Cost
Prices depend on the duration and venue, 3 hr courses from £25 per person and 1 Day (6 Hr) courses from £40 per person (based on a group booking), please contact us for further details.
Certification
Certification depends of the type of course required. For the first aid at work suite, successful candidates will be awarded a certificate that is valid for 3 years. It is recommended that first aiders complete an Annual refresher course each year to refresh and update their skills.
