Schools First Aid

Our Schools first aid course is a great supplement to your workplace first aid provision. It is suitable for teachers, teaching assistants, lunchtime staff or office staff and is perfect for an inset day.

Unlike First Aid at Work courses our schools course will take staff through child protocols and cover common injuries and illnesses in the school setting. The course is great for building confidence in the staff and as a result in the parents too.

Course Content

The role and responsibilities of the first aider
Incident Management
Communication and casualty care
Bleeding (minor and severe)
Bone, muscle and joint injuries
Choking
Asthma
Seizures
Anaphylaxis – Use of Adrenalin Auto-injector (EpiPen)
Head injuries
Unconscious casualty
CPR (Adult and Child)

We will also discuss procedures for administering medications in schools and debunk some of the common myths of first aid.  

We use relevant scenarios and allow plenty of time for hands on practical training.

We can also arrange a bespoke course with different subjects or a half day course to suit your needs.

Assessment

There is no written assessment, but on-going practical assessment throughout the course ensures that delegates are competent and confident.

Certification

On successful completion, candidates will be awarded a certificate of attendance that is valid for 3 years.
