An AED is a portable device that can detect and treat the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmia of ventricular fibrillation. It can then guide the rescuer through defibrillation which stops the chaotic rhythm of the heart, allowing it to re-establish a normal rhythm. AED Training
From the beginning of 2017, all courses in the First Aid at Work suite have included AED training as standard. This comes in recognition of the importance of early defibrillation for a casualty who has suffered a cardiac arrest. We however also continue to run stand-alone Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training courses that require no previous first aid experience. Great to boost the number of defib trained people in your workplace.
