Emergency First Aid at Work

Our Emergency First Aid at Work course is suited to those who are nominated first aiders in smaller or lower risk environments in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations.

Course Content

The course covers key skills needed to treat life threatening emergencies in a workplace until Emergency Services can attend. The course covers the following:

Incident management

The role of the First Aider

Communication and Casualty Care

Casualty Assessment

Resuscitation (Adult)

Use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

How to deal with unconscious casualties

Choking (Adult)

Seizures

Bleeding (Minor and Severe)

Burns

Fainting

Shock

Health and safety (first aid) regulations

Control of catastrophic Bleeding*

*(If required the use of Tourniquets and Haemostatic dressings can be taught on request at no extra cost. This may require 30 min extra training time which therefore, must be arranged at the time of booking.)

Assessment

A mix of theory and practical assessment throughout the course.

Certification

On successful completion, candidates will be awarded a certificate that is valid for 3 years. It is recommended that first aiders complete an Annual refresher course each year to refresh and update their skills.
