Course Content

Participants will master essential first aid skills, including how to assist someone who:

Is unresponsive and not breathing (including safe use of an AED)

Is unresponsive and breathing

Is having a seizure

Is choking

Is bleeding, including life-threatening situations and the use of haemostatic dressings and tourniquets

Is in shock with internal bleeding

Is suffering from a burn

You’ll also be trained in

Assessing a casualty

Where and how to get help

Accident recording and reporting

Certification

On successful completion, candidates will be awarded a certificate that is valid for 3 years. It is recommended that first aiders complete an annual refresher course each year to refresh and update their skills.
